PSA, my favorite fried chicken by Pecking House is back in San Francisco through January 28th. You can read my previous review here, where I was absolutely raving over my meal.
Of course, I had to revisit this Brooklyn-based spot while they were spinning at Turntable SF this month. The chili fried chicken was exceptionally crunchy as usual, though I would prefer mine with more heat. I was also very excited to try their new salted egg flavor, which featured a slightly less thick batter, but retained a pleasantly creamy salted egg base under the crunchy surface.
For sides, there is a new butter bean salad, which had a toasted sesame oil base and fantastic brightness. Celery and bell pepper crunch contrasted the silky soft beans. And of course, I still swooned over my favorite mashed yams with bacon and almonds.
Pre-order in advance from Turntable SF on Tock. Takeout only. There are a few bistro tables outside.
