Turkey and the Wolf – Life-changing Sandwiches in New Orleans
Never before has a restaurant obliterated and exceeded my expectations so resoundingly, as did Turkey and the Wolf. The national media rankings and raves from friends were right, Turkey and the Wolf is absolutely killingContinue reading

I’ve never had Peking duck like this, and I can se I’ve never had Peking duck like this, and I can see why it’s considered some of the best in Taiwan. Served five-ways, my favorite was the duck nigiri with crispy duck skin, melted cheese, and seasoned sushi rice. The luscious duck fat just coats your tongue.

Yilan is known to have the best scallions in Taiwan, so the scallion pancake duck wraps were so flavorful. And the more traditional thin wraps, which I preferred, were also made with local scallion.

And there’s more. The rest of the duck went into an umami rich three-cup duck clay pot and a hearty duck bone soup.

This is Red Lantern inside the luxurious Silks Place hotel in Yilan, Taiwan, about an hour outside Taipei.

You’ve never had fish and chips like this. This Br You’ve never had fish and chips like this. This British bistro just opened in London by three-Michelin-starred chef Clare Smyth, and she’s rethinking British classics.

The fish and chips are stuffed with lobster mousse, and served with triple-cooked chips. You even get to select your own vinegar like it’s a wine pairing.

There’s an entire potatoes menu. Luxury knows no bounds.

Obviously they have sticky toffee pudding, but it’s a full lava moment because we don’t do basic here.

This is Corenucopia in Chelsea. Where fancy food is abundant. My wallet, less so.

Probably in a toxic relationship with London, but Probably in a toxic relationship with London, but no regrets. Just unintentionally collecting stories for my future tell-all that friends are encouraging me to write 😬🫠

Trip two took the same pattern and escalated it:
- more fun and dancing to throwbacks
- more chaos invading my peace
- more sick afterward

When is trip three? Because I still haven’t had London Indian food 😅
This was either going to be wholesome or a crime s This was either going to be wholesome or a crime scene. When you’re done with dating apps but still want to meet actual humans, this was like adult summer camp, minus the summer part.

They match total strangers using a very detailed survey and drop you in group events. I picked a potluck and brought the most polarizing dish… green fluff salad. Perfect way to find out who’s adventurous and who’s judging me silently. I did bring pineapple buns as backup.

We did improv games while pretending we had circulation. Then we inhaled food, trauma-bonded over the cold, and liked each other enough to go to a bar after. All that socializing made us hungry for a second lunch, so my new friends and I ended the day with pho.

Honestly, this was way more fun than I expected. And I didn’t have to deal with endless swiping or creepy advances. A holiday miracle. Thanks to 222. [ad]
