Creative Familiarity at Anomaly SF Pop-Up

Anomaly’s seasonal, modern California menu and communal dining style will likely draw comparisons to Lazy Bear back in the day. I thought that Chef Mike Lanham’s style was more refined right off the bat.

I’m 36 and I’m terrified of injecting anything I’m 36 and I’m terrified of injecting anything in my face. So I’m trying out botox alternatives, until I need a face lift. 🙃 [gifted]

I’ve been hearing a lot about Rejuran’s Salmon DNA. The injection is not FDA approved in the US, but you can get topical Rejuran healing essense, so I had that with microneedling.

I honestly have hated how painful microneedling was in the past, so I was shocked that this CosmoPen at @citylaserclinicsf was painless.

Along with the salmon DNA, they also applied a hyaluronic acid exosome mixture to my face. Then they microneedled.

After that, I got also PRF, or platelet-rich fibrin, similar to a vampire facial. I didn’t realize it was coming from my own blood, so I accidentally got my blood drawn. Ah the things we do for youth.

I was super red right after, but it mostly faded the next day, with some minor redness a few days after.

Also I love that City Laser sends you home with premium skincare for week’s worth of aftercare.

Can’t wait to see the long term results.

A new beginning. March was a lot. Unexpected shi A new beginning.

March was a lot. Unexpected shifts in personal, career, home. So much change all at once, and not gently.

April was healing. It was confronting fears, accepting, and building a new foundation. I had moments of overwhelming anxiety. I thought about quitting, of taking the easier or safer road.

May in my new studio feels hopeful. I’ve moved every year since 2006. But this year, I was planning to renew my lease for the first time. My last space was my favorite. It was my sanctuary after the most hurtful, forced move. But my life is predictably unpredictable. And so here I find myself again in a new home.

A new beginning.
