I lost my teppanyaki virginity in a fancy private I lost my teppanyaki virginity in a fancy private dining room in Taipei.

This spot has no menu and only two rooms, so reserve in advance.

Every course felt luxurious, from Hokkaido king crab, rare kinki fish, gigantic local prawn, South African abalone, and finally A5 wagyu.

And somehow the fried rice still held its own. Honestly might have been my favorite. Plus the service felt incredibly warm and genuine.

The damage? NT$6100 per person ($190 USD). Definitely a splurge for Taipei, but a fun option if you want a private room for a celebration.

Representation in medical aesthetics matters. Than Representation in medical aesthetics matters. Thank you @b.beautyus for creating space for honest conversations around beauty treatments for skin of color.

I attended a creator event focused on our real experiences in aesthetic medicine, from the lack of personalization in skincare, to the gaps in education and visible examples for more melanated skin.

I first met Kevin @the.nursekb of B.Beauty after a painful RF microneedling experience at a different medspa. He explained that Asian skin often has higher melanin levels, which can make it more reactive to energy-based treatments.

Higher melanin levels can increase the risk of complications like post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, and keloid scarring when treatments aren’t approached with proper training and nuance.

Education doesn’t just sit with providers. As consumers, asking better questions, seeking informed practitioners, and sharing real outcomes helps set a higher standard for the entire industry.
