2018’s Memorable Bites
My 2018 was a great year for dining. There was so much competition for my annual list of favorite bites, that I added a runner up to each category. Too many good options to recognize!Continue reading

38. I wasn’t planning to celebrate this year. Men 38.

I wasn’t planning to celebrate this year. Mentally, physically, and financially, things were unexpectedly tough leading up to this week.

I never imagined I’d find myself suddenly making less now than I did at my first job. I cry in therapy almost every week about whether I will ever be able to build the life I want.

I try to convince myself that somehow, in a few years, I’ll be able to be a single mom, when right now I’m not even making enough to comfortably cover rent.

The recent sudden work cut was brutal. But what hurt even more was feeling like I had let my team down.

And yet, this past week reminded me of how quickly things can shift.

I genuinely didn’t think an extravagant birthday meal was in the cards for me. Somehow, I ended up at my top SF bucket-list restaurant, and it was even more special because of how it came together.

Then I found myself in Napa, enjoying another gifted meal and celebrating with people I love.

At 38, I am nowhere close to having it figured out. But I know I’d rather have no regrets. I’d rather take the risks, than wonder, “what if?”

And despite all the unexpected hardships, I still believe that things will work out.

Because I am rich in ways that matter most. I have amazing people who love and support me, in every aspect of my life. I don’t take that for granted.

And most importantly, I have all of this while being true to myself. 🤍
Had an unexpectedly rough couple days leading up t Had an unexpectedly rough couple days leading up to OSL, but I’m so glad I forced myself to show up all 3 days. Life isn’t always the highlight reel we see online. Lots of plot twists, good and bad.

This was my favorite year by far. The best company, core memories, and I’m still swooning over my favorite performance yet by my favorite band. 🫶🏼

Grateful to have been invited to experience OSL VIP. 🤍
