2016’s Top Three Restaurant Experiences
In contrast to my recap of the most memorable dishes this year, it was surprisingly easy to pick my top three favorite restaurant experiences. 2016 was a weak year for new restaurants in the Bay Area, so the standouts wereContinue reading

Living my best +1 life. ☺️🌴 And what an inc Living my best +1 life. ☺️🌴
And what an incredibly special, love-filled wedding. 🤍
I celebrated the end of 9 months of funemployment I celebrated the end of 9 months of funemployment by pampering myself - hair, nails, jewelry, and laser treatment. Really hoping I don’t get laid off because I need to pay off my credit cards now. 😆

But in all seriousness, I’m beyond grateful for this new beginning. Just a few months prior, I found myself holding back tears when talking to a recruiter. I thought I was ready, but I was still healing from the cruelest pain I’ve ever felt. My healing was non-linear, but I eventually learned to trust again, to believe that people are still kind.

When I was finally ready to job search 7 months after leaving my startup, I then encountered the hardest tech employment market. I questioned my abilities as a software engineer, even after coming from a founder and CTO role.

Luckily, the universe had my back. Every time I hit a new low during this journey, a new opportunity would unexpectedly appear. This occurred first with friends reaching out, then a relationship, and now a job. I leaned heavily on the kindness of friends, loved ones, therapists/coaches, even strangers to help me heal. 🤍

Now I’m back bitches. My foundation is stronger than ever. Time to rebuild on it. 💪🏼
🥐 Can’t believe I got to judge the 2023 SF Be 🥐 Can’t believe I got to judge the 2023 SF Best Croissant contest hosted by @french.morning! My credentials are that I eat a lot of carbs.

Congrats to all the winners!! 🎉
1st: @maison_nico
2nd: @themidwifeandthebaker
3rd: @thoroughbreadandpastry
People’s Choice: @lemaraisbakery
Best Original Creation: @fourneebakery (rhubarb cream cheese croissant)

Another shoutout to Maison Nico for making my top original pastry - chocolate choux filled with avocado cream & lemon verbena 🔥. But honestly, all the creations were all incredible! 🥰

I lost my fav sunglasses at the event, but I’m pretty sure I ate the equivalent in croissants and pastries. 😆
