Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Football Dip

I’m a fan of savory cheese balls, but I usually pick sweet over savory. When I saw this chocolate chip cream cheese football from Belle of the Kitchen, I knew I had to try it! The adorable football shaped appetizer is so simple to make, and it’s a visual crowd pleaser.

Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Football Dip

A sweet, cream cheese based dip in the shape of a football! Recipe adapted from Belle of the Kitchen.

Total Time 3 hours 20 minutes
Servings 1 ball


  • 1 (8 oz) package cheese cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 20 pieces white chocolate chips
  • pretzels, graham crackers, pita chips, etc for serving


  1. Combine cream cheese, butter, and vanilla in a large bowl. Beat until fluffy.

  2. Add powdered sugar and brown sugar, and beat until combined.

  3. Stir in half of the mini chocolate chips (1/2 cup). Cover and refrigerate for two hours or until chilled.

  4. Remove from fridge and form into a football shape. Refrigerate for another hour.

  5. Remove from fridge and cover ball with remaining chocolate chips. Make the white laces with the white chocolate chips.

  6. Serve with your choice of sweet or savory crackers, pretzels, or chips.
